Cedar Siding Completed in the Front of Kwa’lilas Hotel

  • 658

The cedar siding, complete in the front of Kwa’lilas Hotel, dramatically transforms the old Port Hardy Inn look. Cedar, the most commonly used wood on the North Island, keeps to the roots of the community.

In the South Wing, k’awat’si Construction finished the plumbing and electrical work, framing the lobby, and installing new posts in the entrance ways. The crew will continue to wrap the exterior building with cedar siding, hang drywall on the first and second floor, and paint the guest rooms and hang drywall on the third floor.

The interior floor plan is getting a complete face lift. Construction work is focused on moving the location of the staircases and stripping down the conference room space. These newly renovated meeting and event spaces will be available for rent when the hotel opens.
