K’awat’si Consulting and Management Services, located on Northern Vancouver Island, is looking for an IT Technician to join our team!

The IT Technician is responsible for the support of existing equipment and systems as well as the implementation of new communication and information systems for the organization and clients.

Please note that this position cannot be done remotely and requires relocation to Port Hardy, B.C.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (monitors, printers etc.)
  • Provide technical assistance and support for internal and external users/clients with issues related to computer systems, software and hardware.
  • Respond to queries/tickets either in person, over the phone, via texting or email.
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve user/client issues (repair or replace parts, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot and Manage network connectivity and access.
  • Troubleshoot and manage printers and other peripherals (Scanners, Docks, Monitors, Etc.).
  • Ensure the security and privacy of networks, computers, and servers.
  • Manage and Install Windows OS updates.
  • Manage and Maintain Software Licensing, Software Administration (Microsoft 365, Adobe and others)
  • Maintain audio/visual systems in meeting rooms/restaurants.
  • Make hardware/software vendor service calls as needed.
  • Implement security measures. Monitor security certificates and company compliance requirements.
Education and/or Work Experience
  • Degree/ Certification in Information Technology or related field preferred
  • Experience with Windows OS, Mac OS, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 suite, and anti-virus/spyware.
  • Experience with mobile device configuration and setup, Android, and iOS.
  • Experience with Remote Management and Support Tools.
  • Experience with Audio/Visual systems.
  • Must have strong communication/presentation skills.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Vehicle and Valid License a plus.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Should have strong English communication skills, including clear speaking and active listening abilities.
