Pay: $105,000.00-$120,000.00 per year

Qualifications:
  • 5–10+ years of related work experience, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices and methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain management, construction management, or a related field; or 5–10 years of extensive construction project purchasing and material control experience.
  • Strong ability to adhere to project schedules.
  • Ability to identify constructability issues in moderately complex situations and develop solutions within construction plans and schedules.
  • Certificate, diploma, or university degree is an asset.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), MS Project, and Procore.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the KCC Construction Team.
  • Applicable machinery operation tickets are an asset.
Responsibilities
  • Freight Coordination: Oversee all freight hauling activities, including barge transport, truck deliveries, and intermodal transfers.
  • Scheduling & Planning: Develop and maintain detailed logistics schedules aligned with construction milestones and material availability.
  • Vendor Management: Liaise with barge operators, freight carriers, and third-party logistics providers to ensure compliance with safety, timing, and cost requirements.
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of personnel at both the site and district office involved in purchasing materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies.
  • Oversee purchasing, receipt, inspection, storage, maintenance, material issuance, and all related documentation for proper material control.
  • Manage and control materials in and out of the warehouse, lay-down areas, and project tool rooms.
  • Oversee project support functions such as site security, recycling, temporary fencing, jobsite signage, dumpsters, and trailer/dry-shack setup.
  • Perform and supervise major project mobilization and demobilization efforts.
  • Represent the company in negotiations and policy development with suppliers.
  • Responsible for projections, financial planning, expediting, delivery schedules, and project reporting.
  • Provide training and conduct material management audits to ensure compliance with procedures.
  • Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims.
  • Implement and monitor site-specific purchasing and material control plans.
  • Communicate and enforce material management procedures with the project team.
  • Relocate for long-term or short-term field assignments as required.
