My name is Lisa (Elizabeth) Swain.  I am from the Gwa’Sala-Nakwaxda’xw First Nation and come from the Walkus family.  I had five kids, but one passed away from cancer.  I currently live in Nanaimo, BC where I received my Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Accounting.  After I finished my post-secondary education, I started working with Mid Island Co-op and have now been there just over 5 years, although I’ve taken some time off due to my son’s passing. 

 I love working with numbers.  I’m very excited and happy to be on the KEDC Board of Directors.  It’s already been a great learning experience, and I’m excited for the opportunities that lie ahead for KEDC and the Gwa’Sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw First Nation.  I’m very grateful for the opportunity to be on this board.
