Housekeeping Support

Kwa’lilas Hotel is looking for a house runner to join our team in Port Hardy, on Northern Vancouver Island. The House Runner plays a crucial role in supporting the housekeeping team by efficiently managing various tasks such as laundry runs, maintaining stock inventory, replenishing housekeeping carts, bed stripping and making, and offering assistance in all facets of housekeeping operations. This position requires a valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract, the ability to lift at least 30 lbs or more, and a willingness to work weekends. The part-time nature of this role may evolve into a full-time position based on performance and business needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Laundry Runs:
Collect, transport, and distribute laundry to and from designated areas.
Ensure that laundry operations are conducted in a timely and efficient manner.
Stock Inventory:
Monitor and manage housekeeping supplies inventory.
Communicate inventory needs to the appropriate personnel.
Replenish Housekeeping Carts:
Restock housekeeping carts with necessary supplies.
Ensure carts are well-equipped to meet the needs of housekeeping staff.
Bed Stripping and Making:
Strip and make beds in accordance with established standards.
Maintain cleanliness and order in guest rooms.
Assist in All Areas of Housekeeping:
Provide support to housekeeping staff in various tasks as needed.
Collaborate with the team to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
Driving Requirements:
Possess a valid driver’s license.
Maintain a clean driving abstract.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift at least 30lbs or more.
Perform physically demanding tasks as required in a housekeeping environment.
Weekend Availability:
Must be available to work weekends as part of the regular schedule.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Hospitality: 1 year (preferred)
Valid Drivers License
